Organizing in Support of Racially and Economically Integrated Education PRRAC is seeking to design innovative organizing campaigns in support of integrated schools. The goal is to harness the political energy of parents participating in a voluntary school desegregation process. The test site for this project, which we are developing jointly with the church-based Greater Hartford Interfaith Coalition for Equity and Justice, would bring together urban and suburban members of magnet school PTOs in the Hartford area, along with city parents of children attending suburban schools, to work on common issues and to press the legislature for stronger support, expansion and full funding of a court ordered desegregation remedy in the Sheff v. O’Neill case.
