Developing housing-schools connections: PRRAC has released its latest publication on the housing-schools intersection, Coordination of Community Systems and Institutions to Promote Housing and School Integration, highlighting a range of examples of public and private cross-sector efforts to ameliorate racial and economic segregation. We also recently presented at the University of Richmond Law School on our efforts to incorporate educational data and policy into a local Assessment of Fair Housing – article coming soon. Also stay tuned for a spring conference here in DC on coordinating housing and school integration policy.
….and if you are in Connecticut this Saturday morning (tomorrow!) there is another important housing-education dialogue happening at the CT Nonprofit Center, sponsored by the Sheff Movement Coalition and the Open Communities Alliance.
Source of Income Discrimination: We recently joined an amicus brief in the Minnesota Court of Appeals, defending the Minneapolis source of discrimination ordinance, working with co-counsel at the National Housing Law Project and the Minneapolis-based Housing Justice Center.
