AFFH in LIHTC: Our latest review of fair housing related provisions in state Low Income Housing Tax Credit Qualified Allocation Plans shows significant improvement in many state plans since our last review in 2015, with dramatically reduced deference to local opposition to LIHTC projects, increased use of opportunity indices to promote development in lower poverty areas, improved affirmative marketing and tenant protection provisions, and more meaningful definition of the Act’s “concerted community revitalization plan” requirement. Some states, however, still lag behind. See our new report here.

46 applications for the Housing Mobility Services NOFO: This was not a simple application to put together, and the large number of PHAs applying for the recent $25M competition from so many different parts of the country demonstrates the need for additional funding in future appropriations bills – we hope Congress is listening!
