Fair Market Rents on the rise: HUD responded positively to calls from housing authorities, tenant advocates, and fair housing groups (including PRRAC) for continued use of private rent data to ensure that rent caps in the Housing Choice Voucher program keep pace with rising rents around the country. In its 2024 FMR release, HUD announced that HUD-approved FMRs would be increasing by an average of 12% nationally.
